Castello di Amorosa is the only authentic medieval (13th century) Italian Tuscan castle and winery built in America. It is located in the Napa Valley town of Calistoga. It took the owner over 12 years to build and includes 107 rooms, an enormous great hall with frescoes painted by Italian artists, a 500 year-old fireplace, 8,000 tons of hand-chilled stones, a drawbridge, dungeon, torture chamber, medieval church and more. Truly impressive but what is more unique is that you can only buy their wine from the winery as they have no distribution to stores or restaurants.
